15 years ago we started celebrating the first Commemoration Day of Ferdowsi in Manchester. Ferdowsi is the author of Shahnameh (The Book of Kings), a book of poetry written over a thousand years ago. This year we had a taste of Ghasemabadi's dance.

در پانزدهمین بزرگداشت فردوسی خانم بهاره ما را به تماشای رقص قاسم‌آبادی مهمان نمودند.

در رقص قاسم‌آبادی ابتدا نیایش خداوند و سپس سه مرحلهٔ کاشت، داشت و برداشت برنج نشان داده می‌شود: رقص قاسم‌آبادی با انجام نیایش به درگاه خداوند آغاز می‌شود و بخش عمده‌ای از این رقص به دعا و شکر پروردگار اختصاص دارد، چراکه خداوند به آن‌ها این امکان را داده تا به کشت و زرع بپردازند. پس از نیایش، مرحله کاشت آغاز می‌شود. این بخش از رقص با حرکات تند و چرخش‌های دایره‌ای انجام می‌شود. مرحله دوم که مرحله داشت است با چرخش‌های کندتر انجام می‌شود و مرحله برداشت که جداکردن دانه از ساقه و پوسته است، در دایره‌های کوچکتر انجام می‌شود و تقریباً افراد ثابت در یک جا این مرحله را انجام می‌دهند.

Qasemabadi dance is a type of Iranian dance that originated in the village of Qasemabad in Gilan Province. This dance is performed with Gilaki folk music and in the local costumes of Qasemabad village. Qasemabadi dance first shows the prayer to God and then the three stages of planting, guarding, and harvesting rice: Qasemabadi dance begins with a prayer to God, and a major part of this dance is dedicated to prayer and thanksgiving to God, because God has given them the opportunity to plant and cultivate. After the prayer, the planting stage begins. This part of the dance is performed with rapid movements and circular turns. The second stage, which is the guarding stage, is carried out with slower rotations, and the harvesting stage, which is separating the grain from the stalk and husk, is carried out in smaller circles, and almost always the same people perform this stage in one place.
