Hamsaz combines the essence of Iranian music with a contemporary twist. Discover a vibrant sound that echoes the richness of tradition.

We celebrated the 15th Commemoration Day of Ferdowsi (the author of Shahnameh, a book of poetry written over 1000 years ago) with talk, music and dance. It is our pleasure to host Hamsaz . Hamsaz is a Manchester-based Iranian musical ensemble, founded in 2018 through Sahba Academy’s artist development programme.

With over 12 talented musicians from diverse backgrounds, Hamsaz is committed to preserving and reimagining the rich traditions of Iranian music. Their sound blends timeless folkloric melodies with contemporary influences, creating a vibrant and deeply emotional experience.

Hamsaz has performed at events such as the Migration Matters Festival and the sold-out The Blossoms of Freedom at Didsbury Arts Festival, a tribute to the resilience of the Iranian people and the "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement.
